After so many requests, here is a little photo of Lucas in his Tottenham kit :-)
Have a lovely summer everybody!
A message from Mr Gillespie - updated 14.7.20
Good morning everyone :-)
Where do I start? What a whirlwind the past two weeks have been. On Friday 26th June, Lucas James Gillespie was born and even though he doesn't like sleeping, he is doing really well. Mrs Gillespie bought him a mini Tottenham kit so I've made sure he's been wearing it when Tottenham have been playing on the tv. Thank you for all the warm wishes you have all sent and I will try and upload a photo of him later in the week for you to see him (I've had a quite a few requests).
Yesterday was Mr Gillespie's first day back in school and it was wonderful to be back. I had a few butterflies in my stomach before going back as I haven't been in school for 16 weeks but I had a wonderful time. I'm sure some of you will be nervous when you come back and that's fine but honestly it's just so good to be back and to see everyone.
Lots of things seemed to have changed in school since Lucas was born. I enjoyed speaking to you on the phone but I believe we aren't doing that now and we are going to do a group call. This is something I am going to try and set up today and send out invitations. I am going to hold one call tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday) 1:30 -2:00 and then on Thursday at the same time (1:30 - 2:00). Look out for an email from me stating which meeting to attend. We will do a little quiz( so have a piece of paper handy) and have a general catch up. It will be lovely to see your faces again. Hopefully things will run smoothly but please bare with me :-)
Miss Whitehead has done an amazing job looking after Year 5 while I have been looking after Lucas. All the activities for this week are on Leopards class page so please look on there for what to do. I haven't had the chance yet to look on Class Dojo or Reading Plus yet but I will be looking at this later on in the week. Miss Whitehead has told me the amazing things you have been doing and I'm so impressed.
Hopefully see you all online this week :-)
Home Learning Work - Monday 29th June to Friday 3rd July
Please visit Leopard's class page to view and access Year 5's learning for this week. All learning across Lions and Leopards is the same and you can upload on Dojo just like you usually do :-).
Please see below the SNIP programmes for the children, who do a SNIP intervention at school, to access from home. They can carry on from the session they have reached. Thank you.
Well done to the 20 children who have accessed the Reading Plus online activities already, we are third in the list for children in class, accessing the site. We have also shot up into 6th place for the amount of words read.
We have access to this website until the 30th June so get using it while it's there and get your score to the best it can be. We have some children who have just stared using it and are scoring really well. It's not too late to go for first place!
With so much wonderful work completed this week, we have a change to the top order again.
3) Harry C
Well done to Effy for breaking into the top 4 just in front of Belle, Charley and Emily for the time being.
You should have been sent your log-in details already; if you can't log-on, contact the school office as they have all the details needed to do so.
When you log-on to the program, don't forget to change your password to something that you can remember! Go to Learning & the Curriculum page on the website and then click on Reading to get started!
